Naturalization

Naturalization is the process by which a foreign national can become a citizen of the United States. To be eligible for naturalization, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have been a lawful permanent resident (LPR) for at least five years (three yearsif you are married to a U.S. citizen).
  • Be able to read, write, and speak basic English.
