Visas O-1

Extraordinary Skills in the Sport

  • Athletes with extraordinary abilities in sport can apply for an O-1 visa, which is similar to the P-1 visa but applies to individuals with exceptional achievements.

Sponsors P-1

Sponsors and Agents on P-1 Visa Applications

  • P-1 petitions may be filed by US employers, US sponsoring organizations, US agents or foreign employers through US agents.
  • If the athlete will work for multiple employers at the same time, each must file a separate petition, unless the sponsor is an established agent.

Location and Jurisdiction of P-1 Petitions

When it comes to filing P-1 petitions, the appropriate location for filing them is determined by the jurisdiction of the service center corresponding to the alien’s workplace, or the area indicated at the sponsor’s address on the petition.
