EB-5 Regional Center Overview

Summary

EB-5 Visa: Summary

  • Creation of the Visa: Established in 1990 for immigrants who want to enter the US. to benefit their economy and create at least 10 jobs per investor.
  • Pilot Program: Created in 1993, allocates 3,000 annual visas for investors in regional centers.
  • Advantage of Regional Centers: It allows counting direct, indirect and induced jobs to meet the requirements of EB-5, unlike investments outside regional centers that only count direct jobs.

Statistics EB-5

Data Regional Centers EB-5 (until T3 2011):

  • Regional Centers: 173 approved in 40 states, including DC and Guam
  • Investors in Centers: 90-95% of I-526 petitions filed by foreign investors in companies affiliated with Regional Centers.
  • Approvals 2010: 55% of Initial Proposals and 71% of Proposed Modifications approved.
  • Proposals 2011: 67% of Initial Proposals and 84% of Modification Proposals approved up to T3.

Creation

Establishment of a Regional Centre:

  • Submit Form I-924 with a fee of $6,230.00.
  • Develop Business Plan with project details and jobs.
  • Get TEA Designation Letter.
  • Prepare required legal and economic documentation.
